MadKnight: nop, combinatorics is my main weakness
MadKnight: orangesnowfox have u improved your simu ?
MadKnight: (referencing your bio)
orangesnowfox: I enabled simd, does that count?
orangesnowfox: (also, I'm izik1, my current un won't ring a bell)
MadKnight: oh right
MadKnight: so what u been working on ?
orangesnowfox: job mostly, umm, my attention span has been quite short, but I've been working on a bunch of different bots... Going to bed rn though
MadKnight: nice nice... okay cya
jrke: today is my first condingame anniversary
MadKnight: jrke time to review all of your bots
MadKnight: and see what u've done in a year
derjack: good morning
Hannnn: what's up
Uljahn: Automaton2000: yes
Automaton2000: how do i know that it's a bad idea

[CG]Thibaud: happy codingame anniversary jrke :birthday:
FetterBieber: does somebody know what's wrong with it?
[CG]Thibaud: what does the console say
FetterBieber: use of unresolved identifier POWER
derjack: print is outside loop
FetterBieber: thanks I saw it but its still wrong
AntiSquid: read carefully what jacj said
AntiSquid: jack *
derjack: diejack?
AntiSquid: are you a girl now?

Coder_DaYan: why does this code not work on the 6 test?
AntiSquid: ???
ElSam: a
ill-be-waiting-outside: hey
-oa-: Is there a meta in legends of code and magic or is the card balance broken?
MadKnight: there is some kind of meta
InCog: hello
ANONYMOUS42: hi
InCog: If I have had prior experience do I start from bronze or silver cause I havent done coding in like a year +
MadKnight: can't u just try it out and see ?
InCog: some of the puzzles vary in difficulty even in their own ranks so its a bit lengthy to try out each and every
kaushik_ss: How to get hold of a question which i couldn't complete in clash of code ?
Andriamanitra: do you remember the name of it? you could try looking for it in the contributions section
blobonmyknob: morning code vibes!
Andriamanitra: they should honestly add a link to the clash in the results page, there are so many clashes that require fixing and people are struggling to find them
Astrobytes: Look for it here: https://eulerschezahl.herokuapp.com/codingame/puzzles/
Josephtulaferme: 2 1 14
derjack: :tada:
Josephtulaferme: 2 2 14
AntiSquid: why spam
Astrobytes: Why any luncheon meat at all?
AntiSquid: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
ill-be-waiting-outside: what does that mean
AntiSquid: just a bunch of numbers i guess
ill-be-waiting-outside: oh om
ill-be-waiting-outside: ok
AntiSquid: ping joseph
ill-be-waiting-outside: nice
ill-be-waiting-outside: my bf sent me the same thing but it meant something
BlaiseEbuth: In fact, if these is alphabet letters index, it mean 'ban'
Scarfield: ban, bnn
Scarfield: bbn *
ill-be-waiting-outside: oh thanks
Scarfield: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%202%3A1-14&version=NIV its obviously a bible reference
BlaiseEbuth: Erf.
**AntiSquid throws bible at BlaiseEbuth
Scarfield: xD
BlaiseEbuth: For the glory of Satan. Nema
derjack: For the New Lunar Republic
derjack: regina, noctis pro nobis!
BlaiseEbuth: Thx for the bible btw AntiSquid. That's perfect to start a fire.
Scarfield: jaTroll, how did you teach your NN to troll? have seen you promote to both a rook and a bishop xD
derjack: both rook and bishop? thats queen
JLukeSkywalker: LOL
BlaiseEbuth: Lucifer Our Lord
Scarfield: one game a rook promotion to checkmate, another game bishop promotion to checkmate
derjack: if multiple wins then its random among the wins
**AntiSquid deports BlaiseEbuth to Vatican City
Scarfield: ROFL? Rolling On the Floor, Lucifer?
derjack: if rook and queen would checkmate, then its random among them
**BlaiseEbuth start a bloodshed.
Scarfield: why even consider bishop and rook promotion though?
AntiSquid: back to medieval era huh ?
derjack: sometimes they are desirable
derjack: probably i could prune them away
InCog: bishop and rook promotion to prevent stalemate
InCog: guessing this is for chess?
derjack: :cheese:
JLukeSkywalker: no, clobber
Scarfield: yes for chess, and makes sense, didnt think of that
derjack: well in 99% cases you can get away with queen promotions
derjack: especially at this level
Scarfield: lucifer damn it
InCog: but yeah most of the time they are useless.
derjack: but at first i trained my NN tabula rasa to make it 'pure'
derjack: then i used stockfish for training and then retrained my nn for chess960
Scarfield: wonder what the tricks the trac has done to be so far in the lead still then
Dan4Life: hi
Scarfield: hey
Dan4Life: just wanted to say that
Dan4Life: for no reason whatsoever
Dan4Life: how is your day
derjack: well, still checking for king check is one of mostly used functions for me
Dan4Life: derjack are you like a mod here
Scarfield: yea, the way it was done in the video structo linked is on todo list
derjack: no, im a pony
BlaiseEbuth: Oo
BlaiseEbuth: I was about to say that
derjack: oO
Scarfield: god works in mysterious ways
BlaiseEbuth: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
derjack: impossible. i took day off today
Cohmedy: heyy
BlaiseEbuth: Nam gloria Lucifer.
Scarfield: hmm, does that mean Lucifer works in obvious ways?
darkhorse64: Arf, winning battles and losing points
BlaiseEbuth: Stop wining, keep your points.
darkhorse64: I can't. There are being stolen against my will
darkhorse64: If I lose, I lose even more points
BlaiseEbuth: Stop playing.
darkhorse64: Ask CG for battles opt out ?
InCog: for js is there a way for assigning the index of the minimum value of an array a new number in javascript
InCog: other than by manually searching the indexOf the element in the array and then assigning it through that
MadKnight: how can u assign an index somethingh ?
InCog: like
InCog: in arr[0] you put a new value
MadKnight: u wanna replace min value with new value ?
InCog: maybe the number is 5 before then now you want to put by 10
InCog: yeah
MadKnight: just sort them
InCog: Oh yeah guess that works
MadKnight: what are u working on ?
InCog: was just one of the puzzles
derjack: Scarfield https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saavedra_position
Scarfield: interesting :)
orangesnowfox: bleh, dumb brain can't think of any heuristics for INC in GitC
keremayseli: hello
orangesnowfox: *the world says hello back*
PravinKumar95: then, my program works
InCog: can someone help me
InCog: I have a value in an array
BlaiseEbuth: :scream:
InCog: but when I try to find it by its index it returns -1
InCog: in js
MasterCoderxD: i guess you r trying to access an element that's not in the array?
InCog: But when I print the array it states that its inside
MasterCoderxD: i am not that good in js btw
InCog: or its at least seen there
MasterCoderxD: give me the code
InCog: https://pastebin.com/nVw80nf8

SoumyaCodes2020: hi
SoumyaCodes2020: hi
orangesnowfox: hey
SoumyaCodes2020: how do I debug without causing error
jacek: print to stderr
BlaiseEbuth: Oo
jacek: how to efficiently detect 'dead' stones in clobber? dead as in isolated stones and groups where there is no move anyway
jacek: think i got it. hopefully accurate
YurkovAS: what is dead may never die :)
jacek: https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/001/593/peopledie.jpg

sonic1991: is python the most popular lang ?
jacek: english and chinese are more popular i think
sonic1991: the most clever answers always win
AntiSquid: language is just an idea
sonic1991: we dont really know what language really is
sonic1991: how it is that we understand a word
AntiSquid: that's different from your previous statement
sonic1991: if we are trying to bit ourselves in game who is more clever then yes, im shapeshifting
AntiSquid: Automaton2000 always wins
Automaton2000: i think the boss is not so good
sonic1991: Pythons mostly wins
ALLAOUA: https://www.codingame.com/contribute/view/64019a6ded4ae1f1c40a5103fe583425638d
ALLAOUA: nice one for u :)
AntiSquid: what is a kaci ?
AntiSquid: it says kaci and divisors
ALLAOUA: I'm kaci :)
sonic1991: if I properly understand english because thats a problem sometimes
sonic1991: 9 can be divide only by 3
sonic1991: 3 cannot be divided by 2
sonic1991: so how the output for 9 is 3
ALLAOUA: the output of 9 is 0
ALLAOUA: output of 8 is 3
jacek:
AntiSquid: RIP president of Tanzania, seemed like a great person :/
Automaton2000: it depends on how much you can do it
Kitkat260: sup
heloche: stuck at 9859th rank... how can I do better ?
polill00: Recently had a CoC I had no idea how to approach: Given a number of cards in a deck, return the minimum required shuffles for the deck to be as mixed up as possible.
polill00: Calculating how "mixed up" a deck was is by counting how far each card has moved from where it started.
polill00: Then summing all of those
polill00: As an example, 1, 2, 3 3, 1, 2 = 3 moved 2 places + 1 moved 1 + 2 moved 1 = 4
polill00: The problem I had was determining whether a deck as "as mixed up as possible"
snoyes: I suppose you could try seeing if swapping any two cards results in increasing the sum
snoyes: that doesn't guarantee you haven't landed on a local maximum, though
KelvinAndHubbles: is the CodinGame Sponsored Contest actually solvable or is it just a lot of guesswork
blobonmyknob: elif begin == end: http://chat.codingame.com/pastebin/c7b6b8f8-20a5-4ecd-9681-6a4724620da7
ErrorRazor: How was the deck shuffled though?
polill00: #snoyes the biggest problem is that the max has to be achieved via the shuffling method
polill00: 123456 would be cut like this 123, 456
blobonmyknob: im so frustrated this should work
polill00: then put together like this
polill00: 415263
polill00: 123456 could be aranged like so 456123 where each card would be 3 places away from where it started, hence a "mixed" value of 18. Though the maximum they gave was 16.
Scarfield: cut the deck = mixed up well
polill00: Also if it matters N is always even
snoyes: @blobonmyknob: what's the rest of the code?
blobonmyknob: http://chat.codingame.com/pastebin/fdf4de7d-3fcf-424b-8df2-a2c659c36a28
blobonmyknob: @snoyes
blobonmyknob: @snoyes
blobonmyknob: did i ping u?
jacek: oh my
Scarfield: blobonmyknob and snoyes only write the name to ping
snoyes: Is it deliberate that the variable are named "begin" there, but "begin_month" elsewhere?
Scarfield: putting @ before the name doesnt ping here
jacek: @Scarfield really?
blobonmyknob: begin_month = int(months_begin_splitted.pop(0)
snoyes
blobonmyknob: it should output
ErrorRazor: Well, obviously it's gonna print the first one because the month and day are the same
snoyes: and if begin == end, then isn't it also true that begin_month==end_month
snoyes: yeah, what ErrorRazor said
Scarfield: o0
AntiSquid: KelvinAndHubbles do you want spoilers? the puzzle is about analysing and figuring it out yourself
KelvinAndHubbles: yea, I realized how the puzzle works for the most partafter I said that, all good now
blobonmyknob: oh i see my if statement canceles out by elif one cuz theyre the same
AntiSquid: also check forums if you want some of the spoilers, i can give spoilers if you wish
KelvinAndHubbles: naa, I'm good now, was only confused bc last time I attempted it I didn't understand the rules and was just outputting based on like 1 if else system and was getting 500+ so thought it was random
snoyes: How do you keep the CoC chat open while in the clash?
jacek: oO
bigmazi: I've just made solution acceptable by last validator via series of small opimisations
bigmazi: the last one was literally removing -1 in 2 places
buckybaugh507: can anyone help me get past coders strike bake
breh: STOP TELLING ME TO GET A FKIN JOB
polill00: lol
polill00: @bucky which league?
AntiSquid: breh do you mean the tiny button on top of the page? lol
jacek: o.o
Tuo: any tips for a game after clobber? something less computer sciency:dizzy_face:
Tuo: and current competition would be nice
jacek: breakthrough?
jacek: or dots & boxes, though more sciency
kovi: try angle
jacek: platinum rift 2 ~
AntiSquid: current competition? what do you mean? we have on in may
AntiSquid: also here's a competition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5qZoT6bbJo tuo
Tuo: i mean people playing atm
Tuo: ty for tips, will investigate
Mitul-P14: i just finished a clash and had some questions
Jgb14002: kotlin is targeting too low of a JVM version so we cant call static java methods like Comparator.comparingInt
KiwiTae: o/
Lachrymosa: Hey all, does anyone have any experience with Encase EnScripts?
Fast_Coder: I don't understand what's the relation between the numbers
Shepo: Nothin more depressing than competing in Java and watching Python3 guys solve it in a single line in 44 seconds :joy:
Lachrymosa: And then the Ruby guys get it done in 12 characters
AntiSquid: here's some crazy shit, now time to sleep, gn8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2YDApNRK3g
iHypered: anyone know if its possible to have multiple people work on a bot at once?
tutubalin: iHypered Possible - Yes Allowed - Probably Risky - Yes
tutubalin: More people work on bot, higher risk that sources will leak.
iHypered: Well wait, it's not like for competitive or anything, this is for a casual coding club. I'm just asking if theres anything feature like google docs for coding (like replit) integrated
Puru299792458: stuck at easy angle
tooy: @iHypered vscode + Live Share ?
Tuo: @ihypered https://git-scm.com/ and github is the standard
snoyes: my new clash personal best: 16 seconds
Jour_Mother: Mine's 2 minutes lol
fieoner: Lol I just got a pb too: 20 seconds
